Come and Sing Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle
If you love singing, don't miss this marvellous opportunity to spend a day with members of the Croydon Bach Choir exploring and performing Come and Sing Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, under the inspirational direction of Tim Horton, our Music Director.
This is a full day's workshop and is open to singers of any standard who are able to follow a score. It will be held on Saturday, 13th May 2023 in the modern, light and airy St Matthew's Church, which has excellent facilities, including easy access for the disabled and plentiful parking. Ticket prices include score hire, as well as tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits during the breaks, but we suggest that you bring something for your lunch. The day will end with a free informal public performance.
We will have hire scores (OUP edition) available to borrow at no additional charge, but please do bring your own copy if you have one, even if it's a different edition.
We hold Come and Sing days every season. They are always extremely popular and places are strictly limited, so you'll need to register early to avoid disappointment. In order that we can send participants any additional information about the day in good time, we do require registration and payment in advance and tickets will not be on sale at the door.
Schedule for the Day
- 10:00 am to 10:30 am: Arrival and registration
- 10:30 am to 11:30 am: Rehearsal session 1
- 11:30 am to 11:50 am: Refreshment break
- 11:50 am to 12:50 pm: Rehearsal session 2
- 12:50 pm to 1:50 pm: Lunch break
- 1:50 pm to 2:50 pm: Rehearsal session 3
- 2:50 pm to 3:10 pm: Refreshment break
- 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm: Rehearsal session 4
- 4:10 pm to 4:30 pm: Pre-performance break
- 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Informal performance

Refreshment and Lunch Breaks
Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits will be provided to all singers during the breaks at no extra charge, but we suggest that you bring your own packed lunch.
Dress
Dress will be informal so do wear anything you feel comfortable in.

Cancellation
If, in exceptional circumstances, this event has to be cancelled, booking fees paid will be refunded. No refunds will be made for any other reason.
