He is a music lecturer at the University of West London (London College of Music) and a visiting tutor at the Royal College of Music, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the Jerusalem Music Center and Institut für Verfemte Musik in Schwerin, and is regularly invited to give masterclasses and sit on juries across Europe.
As a freelance cellist, Simon has played and travelled the world with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Mozart Players, and he continues to be a sought-after chamber musician and teacher. As a baritone, he gave his Wigmore debut in 2017, and has sung leading roles at the Nuremberg State opera, Leipzig Opera, Zürich Opera, Netherlands Touring Opera and English Touring Opera. He is a popular concert and oratorio soloist, and has performed as soloist in most major works at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, and the Konzerthaus and Philharmonie in Berlin. Passionate about Lieder and song, Simon has been working with pianist Edward Rushton since 2010 and their growing number of critically acclaimed recordings can be found on Nimbus, Lyrita, Delphian and Resonus record labels.
Simon lives in Croydon with his young family and is deliriously happy to be working close to home for once!
