This year the Croydon Bach Choir are celebrating their 60th anniversary, and nothing could be more fitting to mark the occasion than a performance of one of the greatest musical masterpieces of all time: Bach's St John Passion. It's no coincidence that this was the first work ever performed by the Choir back in 1960!
A rollercoaster of intricate orchestral and choral interplay, starkly tender chorales and ravishing solo arias linked by dramatic narration, the St John Passion deserves its place as a central pillar among the greatest works of art of western civilisation.
Joined by an orchestra of Europe's finest Early Music specialists and a line-up of international soloists, the Croydon Bach Choir promises a memorable evening of music-making.
