Come and Sing ABBA
Our mission at the Croydon Bach Choir is to spread the joy of choral music. For this special event, we’re breaking away from our traditional choral repertoire to embrace the fun, accessible and universally adored music of ABBA! Join us for a joyous musical experience as we embark on a celebration of this world-famous group’s timeless hits! This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to explore choral singing beyond its conventional classical boundaries.
No need to worry if you can’t read music or have never sung outside the safety of the shower, as this ABBA extravaganza is designed for singers of all abilities. Just relax, enjoy yourself and let the fabulously enthusiastic and talented musical team of Thomas Chapman and Duncan White lead you through the music!
Ticket prices include score hire and refreshments, but do bring a packed lunch!
Thomas Chapman
Thomas enjoys a lively career as a freelance musician and can most regularly be found directing choirs, singing tenor and teaching. He currently directs four choirs: Vocality Claygate, Vocality Cheam, Euphonix (Kingston) and the Downland Chorale (Old Coulsdon).
Thomas has been directing choirs since his undergraduate music degree at the University of York where he also went on to gain distinction in his master's degree in Composition.
When he's not directing choirs he can often be found singing with the Choirs of Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and St Paul's Cathedral, amongst others, or conversely using up his excess energy by teaching singing at Westminster Under School.
Schedule for the Day
- 10:30 am to 11:00 am: Arrival and registration
- 11:00 am to 12:15 pm: Session 1
- 12:15 pm to 12:30 pm: Refreshment break
- 12:30 am to 1:30 pm: Session 2
- 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: Lunch break
- 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm: Session 3
- 3:30 pm to 3:45 pm: Refreshment break
- 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm: Session 4
- 4:45 pm to 5:00 pm: Pre-performance break
- 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm: Informal performance

Refreshment and Lunch Breaks
Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits will be provided to all singers during the breaks at no extra charge.
Dress
Dress will be informal so do wear anything you feel comfortable in.

- £20 for singers (includes score hire and refreshments, but bring a packed lunch)
- No charge for afternoon audience
